Ledger Nano S Plus Review (2026)

Our verdict: 4.4 / 5

★★★★★
4.4
Very good

The Nano S Plus is the best-value hardware wallet we've tested: the same secure-element chip and 5,000+ coin support as the Nano X, minus Bluetooth, at a noticeably lower price. If you keep your keys at your desk and don't need mobile, it's hard to beat for the money.

How we tested

We used the Nano S Plus daily for five weeks on desktop, set up several accounts across Bitcoin, Ethereum and a handful of tokens, tested a full seed-phrase recovery onto a second device, and ran day-to-day transactions through Ledger Live. Our scores weight security most heavily, then everyday usability and value. We buy the hardware ourselves — manufacturers don't influence our verdicts.

FAQ

Nano S Plus or Nano X?

Choose the S Plus to save money if you'll only use it tethered to a computer. Choose the Nano X if you want Bluetooth for managing crypto from your phone. Security and coin support are otherwise the same. Either way, store your seed phrase offline.

Is it safe to buy the Nano S Plus?

Yes — but only direct from Ledger, never second-hand or from a marketplace, which risks a tampered device. Set it up yourself and let it generate a brand-new seed phrase. No one should ever ask you to share that phrase. See our guide to storing Bitcoin safely.
