Scam Watch

Independent, on-chain investigations into crypto presales and the paid-promotion machine behind them. We verify the claims, follow the money on the blockchain, and show you how to run the same checks yourself. Educational, evidence-first — never financial advice. 23 guides.

⚠️
Scam Watch — reader safety notice. This is independent editorial analysis based on publicly verifiable evidence — never financial advice. Crypto presales are extremely high-risk and largely unprotected in the UK: no FSCS cover, no Financial Ombudsman. Never send funds to a website you have not independently verified. How we verify · Risk disclaimer

Scam Watch is our independent, evidence-first look at crypto presales and the paid-promotion machine that inflates them. Every piece is built from publicly verifiable facts — the project’s own words, quoted and attributed, and the money as it appears on the blockchain — so you can run exactly the same checks yourself.

This is journalism and education in the public interest: not financial advice, and not an accusation of unlawful conduct. We separate fact from opinion, date how we checked, and offer a right of reply to anyone we write about.

FAQ

Scam Watch — common questions

How do you decide something belongs in Scam Watch?

We only publish what’s provable: the project’s own claims quoted verbatim, checked against the blockchain and public records. We distinguish fact from opinion, note how and when we checked, and offer a right of reply. We don’t publish allegations we can’t evidence.

Are the projects you cover definitely scams?

We’re deliberately careful with that word. We lay out verifiable facts and red flags and let you judge — a presale can be extremely high-risk, misleading or unlicensed without a court having ruled on it. Our job is to surface the evidence, not to hand down a verdict.

How can I check a project myself?

Start with how to check if a presale is a scam: verify the team, look for a real audit, and — most importantly — compare the on-chain money against what the project claims it has raised.
